Arab interior ministers council condemns terrorism

In a statement today, the Secretariat-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers denounced last week's bombings at the U.S. embassies in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam, and reiterated its call for world-wide cooperation to face the phenomenon of terrorism, which transcends regions and borders. The statement, while calling for international and Arab cooperation to combat terrorism, particularly in the areas of preventive security, noted that such efforts would always fall short unless the countries of the developed world are ready to reconsider their policies in providing refuge for terrorist elements who exploit their laws and territories to finance, design, and organize violence, terrorism and   subversive acts.
