Director-General of Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) Dr. Khalid Ibn Abdullah Ibn Bakr today reported a record success for the national carrier's summer schedule. The season, which witnessed the debut of the new fleet of recently-purchased highly-advanced passenger planes, ran from June 15 to September 11, during which record figures were registered in regard to passenger transportation and operation of scheduled and additional flights. There were 2,448,293 passengers transported within the Kingdom, on 15,453 scheduled domestic flights plus 1,196 specials. On international flights, there were 1,368,480 passengers, on 5,661 scheduled international flights plus 548 specials, a total of 6,209 international flights. In spite of the dense traffic, SAA has achieved a punctuality rate of more than 93 percent.
