Saudi Arabia requests extradition of dissident

Saudi Arabia has asked the United States to extradite to the Kingdom the Saudi citizen Hani Al-Sayegh, following yesterday's announcement by the U.S. Department of Justice that it had dropped its charges concerning Al-Sayegh's participation in incidents such as that of the explosion in Al-Khobar.  The Saudi Ambassador to the United States Prince Bandar Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz yesterday reiterated the Kingdom's stance, declared on several occasions by Interior Minister Prince Nayef Ibn Abdul Aziz, that Saudi Arabia does not accuse or exonerate any party of involvement in the cowardly terrorist explosion, and will not do so until the concerned Saudi security authorities are in full possession of the facts.  Prince Bander reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia is continuing its cooperation with the U.S. government on this issue, which is of concern to both countries, and noted that investigations are still under way.
