Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz today chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers and affirmed that concern for the new generation of Saudis is one of the Kingdom's priorities, saying that young people are the cornerstone of the nation and that:  "with their uprightness, they will reflect the virtues of the family and the society".   King Fahd emphasized that raising Saudi citizens within the framework of the munificence of Islamic Shari'ah is the strategic base for the realization of all progress and development.

Information Minister Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi reported that the cabinet then reviewed aspects of the state's concern for children and young people, and what it has provided them in terms of education, health, and social services, recalling the establishment of an infrastructure equipped with the most advanced technology, as well as the mobilization of highly-qualified Saudi cadres, which bring the performance of all sectors including that of health to rival any similar system in the world.   King Fahd urged the private health sector to increase their efforts to offer the best in services as well as to lower medical expenses in line with economic standards.

Turning to the latest developments in the regional, Islamic and international arenas, King Fahd reiterated condemnation of the continued Israeli aggression against Lebanon, noting the importance of pushing ahead with the peace process in order to realize progress in line with the United Nations resolutions and within the framework of Madrid.
