Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Ibn Abdul Aziz, Governor of Asir Province, who is also a renowned poet and artist, yesterday gave a presentation on the popular poetry known as "nabati" and recited some of his own work, at an evening of culture organized by the cultural mission of the Saudi Embassy in Washington DC.  There was also an exhibit featuring twenty of the Prince's paintings.   The event was attended by about 1,600 people, including a number of ambassadors and other diplomats from Arab and Muslim countries.  Speaking on behalf of Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Prince Bandar Ibn Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, cultural attaché Dr. Mazyed Al-Mazyed thanked Prince Khalid, who was then presented with a commemorative plaque by Saudi students on scholarship in the United States.

During his visit to Washington DC, Prince Khalid paid a visit to the Library of Congress.  He also made a tour of the Department of the Interior where he reviewed programs that are being carried out by concerned bodies in the fields of environmental conservation, and administration of national parks and wildlife preserves.
