Prince Saud Al-Faisal at GCC foreign ministers meeting

Foreign Minister Prince Saud Al-Faisal arrived today in Kuwait to take part in the 65th conference of the foreign ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).  On his arrival, Prince Saud stated that reports issued about human rights in the Kingdom are not news since "people are always trying to raise skeptical questions about our society and its development", adding: "We are content that we are on the right track, one that realizes the interests of our citizens, and therefore we take no notice of such reports".

Referring to the escalation between Iraq and the United Nations, Prince Saud stated:  "We are happy that the crisis had a peaceful end and hope that it will not be repeated."  Regarding the return of Iraq to the Arab fold, he said that if Iraq were to chose that, it would have to comply fully with the security council resolutions, adding that this was "the only way".
