Minister of Transportation and Communications Dr. Naser Al-Salloum stated today in a newspaper interview that there is great concern to link the various parts of the Kingdom with a railway network, saying well-defined studies have been conducted in this respect, particularly to connect Jubail with the port of Dammam, and Makkah with both Jeddah and Madinah.

Meanwhile, the Ministry is continuing with its ambitious projects such as the roads, tunnels and bridges at the holy shrines in Makkah, and the improvement of the coastal highway between Makkah and Gizan.  Almost 70 percent of the Kingdom’s planned road network has been completed, totaling more than 40,000 kilometers.
