Prince Salman awarded Bosnian medal

Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Riyadh and President of the Higher Commission for the Collection of Donations for the Muslims of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Somalia, was yesterday awarded the Golden Bosnian Medal by Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic, in recognition of the role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz.

Speaking on the occasion on behalf of the Commission, Director-General of Girls' Education Dr. Ali Al-Murshid emphasized that the unwavering support extended by the Kingdom to Bosnia-Herzegovina comes within the framework of services to all Muslim causes, and pointed out that more than 97,000 cubic meters of relief materials have been sent to the Bosnian people, plus SR 1,396 million (U.S. $ 372.3 million) in collections, including SR 390 million (U.S. $ 104 million) donated by King Fahd himself.
