Private sector ready for joint venture with SAA

The chairman of the board of directors of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry reports that he has informed Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) that the private sector is ready to set up a joint domestic airline company.   Director-General of SAA Dr. Khaled Ibn Bakr, however, has expressed certain reservations, saying that SAA must strictly abide by its high flight standards, quoting as an example that whereas international aviation regulations require two out of the three fail-safe programs to be operational on take-off, no SAA flight departs without all three in perfect working order.
