Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal yesterday conferred in Paris with French Foreign Minister Herve de Charrette in the framework of the periodic bilateral contacts agreed on by the two countries, and following the recent historic visit to the Kingdom of French President Jacques Chirac.    Expressing France’s concern over the Middle East Peace Process, Monsieur de Charrette promised to take up every initiative to ensure its continuation.

Prince Saud Al-Faisal underlined the importance of continuing the peace process in the region, especially on the Syrian-Lebanese tracks.  He also affirmed the Kingdom’s adherence to the unity of Iraq, its territory and its people, and called on the Iraqi regime to implement all UN Security Council resolutions related to Iraq’s aggression on Kuwait, especially Resolution 986 dealing with humanitarian issues.
