SABIC company receives safety award

The Saudi petrochemical company Petrokemya, a wholly-owned affiliate of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), has received the Award of Honor from the National Safety Council of the United States of America for the fifth consecutive year, in recognition of its excellent safety and environmental performance after the company, by the end of 1995, had completed 12,755,650 man-hours without a lost-time accident.  In fact, by July 1996, the company had completed over 14 million safe man-hours (seven consecutive years) without a work-related time-away accident, and is planning to pass 15 million by December.   Petrokemya, located in Jubail Industrial City, is one of SABIC’s largest manufacturing complexes in terms of production capacity and product mix.   The Award of Honor is the US National Safety Council’s highest award, given to a select few companies from around the world, with only the very best safety records.
