Council of Ministers meeting

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz presided over the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers today, and made it clear that all Saudis are highly qualified and sophisticated in defending both what is sacred to them and the prosperity they have attained in the development progress, and shoulder their responsibilities whether in the arena of security or in building up their country in areas such as universities, factories, and hospitals. King Fahd referred to the essence of the Kingdom as entailing the establishment of development strategy on Islamic values and the shariah which goes hand in hand with defending the nation and its security and stability.


Minister of Information Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi reported that King Fahd attributed the Kingdom's rise in prosperity and the advancement of its self-sufficiency in commodities, to the understanding and consciousness of the Saudis and their dedication to knowledge and education as well as their concern to acquire experience through hard work. The King also praised the expansion of the role of the private sector as it has developed understanding of the dimensions of the development strategy. King Fahd then reviewed recent developments at Arab, regional and international levels and the Saudi role in searching for a peaceful and just resolution of problems in these areas.
