Kingdom launches campaign against polio

The Ministry of Health is preparing to launch the second national campaign for the eradication of poliomyelitis in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. About two million children under the age of five are expected to be vaccinated by specially-trained teams, who will visit homes as well as hospitals, primary health care centers, and private clinics. The campaign is in line with the plan approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) to eliminate this dangerous disease. All concerned governmental and non-governmental bodies are urged to cooperate to make it as successful as the first campaign, which yielded very positive results.
