Minister of Information Dr. Fouad Al-Farsi reported that Prince Abdullah also warned against widening the scope of differences in the Arab world, saying only enemies benefit from this. Deploring the recent subversive acts in Bahrain, Prince Abdullah reiterated the Kingdom’s condemnation of all kinds of violence and terrorism.
On behalf of the Kingdom, the King, the government and the people of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdullah congratulated Yasser Arafat on his victory in the Palestinian elections, which the cabinet described as an advanced step on the path of realizing the Palestinian people’s goal of establishing on their homeland an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
After due review, the cabinet adopted a number of resolutions, including the following.
First, the cabinet approved that procedures pertaining to the marriage contract be carried out in the same way as is done for expatriates who carry a residence permit (iqama), for those expatriates who come into the Kingdom with entry visas, but not for those who come with pilgrimage visas, either for Hajj or for Umrah.
Second, the cabinet approved recommendations concerning the system of preventative measures for settlement of bankruptcy.
