Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard, today chaired the regular weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers and reviewed the comprehensive plans drawn up by all the ministries for the upcoming Hajj season. He expressed full satisfaction with the programs prepared by the concerned authorities to offer more services to the pilgrims and stressed that the Kingdom’s efforts exerted in this field represent an honor, adding that continuing to perform this noble duty is a practical and realistic way of shouldering responsibility towards pilgrims and visitors to the Holy Places.
Information Minister Dr. Fuad Al-Farsi reported that the Crown Prince welcomed all pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, and called for greater Islamic solidarity to form an impregnable fortress protecting Muslim societies from obstacles undermining their unity and strength, affirming that the Kingdom would continue to carry out projects in Makkah and Madinah to accommodate pilgrims and facilitate their rituals.
Referring to the situation in Lebanon, the cabinet voiced its grave concern over the Israeli raids on sisterly Lebanon, pointing out that violence breeds violence. The cabinet called for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 425 to ensure the restoration of security and stability in the region.
