Shura Council chairman on visit to U.K.

Chairman of the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) Sheikh Muhammad Bin Jubair yesterday reported that during his current four-day visit to the United Kingdom, he had met with British Prime Minister John Major, and conveyed to him the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz.  He said he had explained to him the concept of shura in Islam, and the tasks undertaken by the Consultative Council in Saudi Arabia.   Sheikh Bin Jubair also met with British Foreign Secretary Malcolm Rifkind, and the two sides stressed the need to have collective international efforts to fight terrorism.   The Consultative Council delegation also visited the King Fahd Chair for Islamic Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.
